About Travel Bee Coffee

What’s the Buzz with the Name?

The story of Mary Travelbee from historic North Manchester, Indiana began in 1852. At the age of 16 she ran off with a traveling circus, marrying the owner Mr. Colgrove. She enjoyed the circus lifestyle for half a century, becoming a prominent horse rider and doing equestrian exhibits. She created her own legacy of friendships with the famous Annie Oakley and invented the divided riding skirt. As life slowed down for Mary, she returned to the original Travelbee homestead on South Sycamore Street in North Manchester. She sadly passed away in 1923 and is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery near her parents in the family plot.
